St. Colman's Boys National School - Macroom

St. Colman’s Boys National School located in Sleaveen East,  Macroom is proud to carry on the long tradition of Primary School Education in the town of Macroom.

In March 2009 St.Colman’s B.N.S moved to its new €3.68 million school. This modern state of the art school has 10 classrooms all equipped with Interactive Whiteboards. Other facilities include a G.P Hall, Computer Room, Playgrounds, a Ball Court and Playing Pitch.

The present school building replaced the school which was located in Cork Street and was established in 1908. The town’s previous National School were located in Masseytown, Castle Street, School Lane and Chapel Hill. Up to 1991 the school was run for many years by the De La Salle Brothers.

Computers

Our new school has a dedicated computer room with 30 networked computers. There are also 20 iPads for classroom use

Music

We now have 30 instruments. Tin Whistle is taught in all classes in the school.We have a school choir .

Activities

Music, Football and Hurling, Physical Education Programme, West Muskerry Cross Country Schools Meeting

Parents' Association

St.Colman’s B.N.S has a very active Parents’ Association who work with the school’s Board of Management
