St. Colman's Boys National School - Macroom

The part played by music in our school was enhanced in December 1997 when we won the Sunday Times Music for School’s Competition. The prize of €5000 worth of musical instruments allowed us to select 9 brass instruments.
Mr. Rory Dineen, teachers from the Cork School of Music teach brass in the school and we now have 30 instruments.

The school band has performed at Christmas time, School Concerts, First Communion and Confirmation. The band has been a prize winner at Feis Maitiú, Corcaigh Tin Whistle is taught in all classes in the school. Our school choir performs at the Christmas Carol Service, Communion and Confirmation Ceremonies.

Computers

Our new school has a dedicated computer room with 30 networked computers. There are also 20 iPads for classroom use

Music

We now have 30 instruments. Tin Whistle is taught in all classes in the school.We have a school choir .

Parents' Association
